Saddle Ranch Elementary and Eldorado Elementary are in close proximity—approximately 2.5 miles (a 6–7 minute drive) or one mile via walkable open space (about a 20-minute walk)—with no major four-lane roadways to cross. No traffic mitigation measures are needed.

One additional bus route will be required for Saddle Ranch Elementary students traveling to Eldorado Elementary, generally serving those living south and east of Saddle Ranch.

Normally, DCSD families who live within one mile of their assigned neighborhood school are not eligible for school bus transportation. This is known as the “walk zone” and reflects both the size of the district and limited transportation resources. For the 2026–2027 school year, DCSD is making an exception to this policy for families attending Golden Ridge Elementary to provide additional transportation options during this transitional year.

On Feb. 18, 2026, families received an email with more details, including a link to RSVP for bus service by May 1 and a map of the walk zone.
